PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bridge device, communication program, and communication method which can solve problems which could occur when there are a plurality of bridge devices connected to a first and a second network. SOLUTION: The bridge device is connected to the first and the second network and performs communication between an apparatus connected to the first network and an apparatus connected to the second network. The bridge device detects the apparatus on the second network to detect whether the bridge device itself is in a first state or in a second state. When the bridge device is in the second state, it determines to bridge the detected apparatus. When the bridge device is in the first state, it determines whether it should bridge the apparatus detected based on the prescribed confirmation conditions.
