PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a network diagnostic method capable of diagnosing a state of a network connected in a prescribed connection form, for example, a star connection form, and to provide a network diagnostic device and a communication state display method. SOLUTION: Communication states of individual connection paths constituting the network are determined, and determination results are preserved as path information, and preserved path information is collected, and network diagnostic information based on collected path information is presented. Since network diagnostic information based on path information being the determination results of communication states of individual connection paths is presented, diagnostic information on which communication states of individual connection paths are reflected can be obtained. When the network diagnostic information is presented, path information of individual connection paths may be displayed on a matrix wherein reception-side devices and transmission-side devices are arranged. In this case, an abnormal position can be confirmed instantaneouly by seeing the matrix display.
