PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shear reinforcement which exerts a sufficient strength, has a reduced weight, and is easily manufactured. SOLUTION: The shear reinforcement 1 is formed of pig iron or steel by casting, forging, or machining. Specifically the shear reinforcement is formed by providing an engaging member 2 having a plate portion 4 and a cylindrical boss 5, flash-welding a steel rod 3 to the tip of the boss 5 by applying only a small amount of welding heat, to thereby connect the former to the latter. Further by virtue of connecting the steel rod 3 to the tip of the boss 5 of the engaging member 2, the strength of the shear reinforcement 1 is enhanced and the weight of the same is reduced.
