[Also in Division F1] In a fuel inlet valve for a carburettor float chamber a two-stage fuel inlet valve has a restricted opening providing a fine control of the fuel supply and an unrestricted opening provides a high rate of fuel flow. Fuel under pressure passes into the chamber 10 through inlet 14, chamber 32 arid passages 68, 30. The fine control valve 50 is moved downwardly when the fuel level falls and is closed by fuel pressure at the inlet. When high rates of fuel flow causes a further drop in the fuel level a projection 56 from a second valve member 34 is engaged by the valve member 50 and valve member 34 is unseated allowing unrestricted flow through passage 30. |
