PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique for making an ice compartment in a refrigerator easy to use as a normal freezing compartment for storage of food by enabling an ice tray of an automatic ice maker for a refrigerator and a motor mechanism part that rotates the ice tray to be removed outside of the refrigerator at the same time, so that the ice compartment is widened by removal of the automatic ice maker, in view of the fact that, although some versions of the refrigerator allow removal of the ice tray while leaving behind in the refrigerator the motor mechanism part that rotates the ice tray, the motor mechanism part is left behind in the refrigerator. SOLUTION: In this refrigerator with an automatic ice maker, a motor mechanism and the automatic ice maker having an ice tray driven by the motor mechanism for rotation are provided inside an ice compartment. The motor mechanism and the ice tray are provided in such a way as to be removable outside of the ice compartment. Effective use of the ice compartment as a freezing compartment is made possible by removal of the motor mechanism and the ice tray. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
