There is provided a cutoff tool which is capable of cutting a wire harness (cable) or a carpet reliably with high workability by easy motion using only one hand in a limited space in an engine compartment etc. or in a corner portion of a floor. In a plan view, the hook 5 is arranged so as to overlap with a distal end portion beta of a cutting blade 3, and also a distal end portion 5 a of the hook 5 is arranged so as to protrude from a toothed portion 2 of the cutting blade 3. In a state in which the cutting blade 3 retracts farthest in a uniaxial direction, the distal end portion beta of a cutting blade 3 is arranged at a position such as to overlap with the hook in the plan view, by which a space S for holding an object to be cut is always formed between the toothed portion 2 of the cutting blade 3 and the distal end portion 5 a of the hook 5. In a state in which the cutting blade 3 advances farthest in a uniaxial direction (reciprocating direction), the distal end portion beta of the cutting blade 3 is arranged so as not to protrude from the hook 5 to the outside.
