Prep. of polyolefin-metal laminates using polyefin contng. organo-metallic peroxides (I) or (II). where M = metal from groups 4 or 5 of the periodic table (Si, Ge, Sn, Pb, As, Sb); R1 = aliph. group up to 20 C-atoms or aryl or aralkyl; R2 = alkyl group up to 20 C-atoms or aralkyl; X = halogen; n = 1,2 or 3; m = 0,1 or 2; and p = 1 to 4. This material is used to form polyolefin-metal laminates by pressing a foil of the organic material against the metal. (a) Greater adhesion. (b) Better-ageing properties. (c) Polymer maintains its thermoplastic and solubility props.
