<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a print processing system whereby an operator can adequately carry out an operation of utilizing a post processor ready to use in its maximum performance by allowing the post processor arbitrary selected by the judgment of the operator to adequately deal with a job even when the job includes the advance designation of a post processor, a finishing processor, and a method of controlling them. <P>SOLUTION: This print processing system comprises printers 111, 112 for outputting a printed print medium, bookbinding devices 141, 142 of the post processors for applying the post processing to the print medium, and a server. The server selects corresponding designation information from a device having a plurality of pieces of designation information for designating a content of the post processing to be applied to the print medium when special information for determining the content of the post processing is input.
