PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stabilize a recording quality by more exactly synchronizing recording information without being affected by a sample-hold signal. SOLUTION: When a boost level is changed over at the generation of a data pattern which is a sink pattern, to form a light emitting waveform different from that of the normal state, the recording quality of the sink pattern is lowered and there is a possibility of impairing a reliability of the recording state. For the countermeasure, by generating a boost level changeover signal for prescribing a timing to generate the sample hold signal for sampling the light emitting power or sampling a reflected light quantity from the recording medium, while avoiding the timing to generate a sink pattern, the recording quality of the sink pattern is maintained without being affected by the sample-hold signal, so that the recording data can be surely synchronized.
