PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet printing method in which image having sufficient concentration is recorded on a fabric without previously applying pretreatment and vivid image can be formed over a long period without staining white ground after washing. SOLUTION: In the inkjet printing method for recording on the fabric by inkjet system, steps for applying a pretreating liquid to at least a part of a fabric prior to the recording, carrying out recording by ink and then washing the fabric are provided and the pretreating liquid comprises a metal salt having a valence not lower than bivalence and has≤35 mN/m surface tension.
