PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that, in a sheet conveyor held by a conveying belt driven by a conveying roller and a driven roller attachable/detachable to/from the belt, the entire driven roller unit is moved in the separating direction from the conveying belt during paper jamming, jammed paper is removed; however, since the entire driven roller unit is moved, the conveyor becomes complicated, the cost is increased, a space for the entire unit to move is required, and an increase in size and a place of installation of the conveyor are limited. SOLUTION: A sheet conveying means has a pressurizing means to abut a driven conveying means at a predetermined abutting force, and a movable slide pressurizing auxiliary means which can be switched to a pressurizing state and a depressurizing state is provided on a sheet conveyor to hold and convey a sheet. In addition, the pressurizing auxiliary means is reciprocated in the direction substantially parallel to the sheet conveying direction, and has a turnable rotary member, and is switched to a pressurizing state and a depressurizing state.
