<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a laser power setting method in which laser power is stably set even if damage or defects may exist on an optical disk. <P>SOLUTION: When data are recorded into a predetermined data recording area, in the case that laser power is set in a plurality of sectors positioned before the recording area to which data are to be recorded, the maximum number (N) of times of laser power setting, and the number of times of laser power setting (M, N≥M) necessary for starting data recording are previously set, and laser power setting for each sector is continuously performed without stopping until the laser power setting fails (N-M+1) times. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
