PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable photographing at an image angle intended by a user, and to suppress a change in an image angle due to movement of an object even in AF of a motion image. SOLUTION: This device provides a variable power image formed at a variable power rate based on an optical variable power means (variable power optical system 101, lens moving control system 108), and an electronic variable power means (simultaneous processing/filter processing unit 103, variable power unit 105, read region setting means 107). The optical variable power means is configured in such a way that a variable power rate is discrete and a focal distance and a focal position vary. The electronic variable power means performs interpolation processing to increase the number of pixels for the predetermined region of the read image at the time of magnifying processing, and performs processing of separately sampling a region wider than the read region by sampling when a magnification rate is not changed and converting the predetermined region into predetermined image data by correction processing at the time of reducing processing.
