PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a synchronizer for a transmission capable of effectively reducing a peak value of operational load at the time of synchronization. SOLUTION: In the synchronizer for a transmission provided with a coupling sleeve 1, a synchronization hub 5, a balk ring 4, and a clutch gear 3, when relative rotation is generated between the synchronization hub 5 and balk ring 4 so that a fine synchronization torque is generated between a cone surface 4a of the balk ring and a cone surface 3a of the clutch gear at the time of speed change, a support synchronizing force producing mechanism which converts circumferential force receiving the relative rotation into axial support synchronizing force pushing the balk ring 4 to the clutch gear 3 is arranged, and a relative rotation amount regulation structure which regulates the amount of relative rotation between the balk ring 4 and synchronization hub 5 so that the support synchronizing force is not generated between the balk ring 4 and synchronization hub 5 during its non-synchronization.
