TRANSPARENT DILATOR DEVICE AND METHOD FOR USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dilator (disposable or non-disposable) at comparatively low cost and comparatively easily and conveniently usable to directly visualize a stricture. SOLUTION: A medical device for use together with an endoscope is provided. The medical device 18 can include a tube 20 with a first channel 23 for receiving the endoscope. A transparent segment 21 can extend from the distal end of the tube 20, and the transparent segment can have a first outer diameter D1 sized for dilation of a portion of a body lumen. The medical device can also include a tapered tip attached to the distal end of the transparent segment 21 that narrows from the first outer diameter D1 to a distal terminating end.
