PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a base isolation device capable of improving base isolation performance with a simple structure. SOLUTION: This base isolation device 10 comprises a horizontal force attenuating mechanism 16 making a foundation 12 and a base isolation object 14 relatively displaceable in horizontal direction to attenuate horizontal shaking to be transmitted from the foundation 12 to the base isolation object 14, a vertical force attenuating mechanism 18 making the foundation 12 and the base isolation object 14 relatively displaceable in vertical direction to attenuate vertical shaking to be transmitted from the foundation 12 to the base isolation object 14, and a restoration mechanism 20 limiting the relative displacement between the foundation 12 and the base isolation object 14 within horizontal and vertical allowable ranges.
