PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sustained release preparation accumulating camptothecin, its derivative or a salt thereof in tumor sites or maintaining the concentration around the tumor cells in an effective region over a long period. SOLUTION: The sustained release antitumor agent composition is obtained by including the camptothecin, its derivative or the salt thereof in a carrier composed of polylactic acid and a polyethylene glycol monofatty acid ester and/or an ethylene glycol-propylene glycol-ethylene glycol copolymer.
