PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an oscillating type exercise machine by which a greater fitness effect can be obtained by making motion complicated despite its compactness and inexpensiveness. SOLUTION: The oscillating type exercise machine 1 has a motor 10 and a drive unit converting the rotary force of the output rotary shaft 12 of the motor 10 into the oscillatory movement of a seat on which a user sits. The drive unit has a first supporting means supporting a movable mount 6 arranged on a base 8 rotatably reciprocatably and movably around a fore and aft inclined axis 9 inclined fore and aft directions, a second supporting means supporting a pedestal 4 fixed to the seat 2 rotatably reciprocatably and movably around left and right axes 7a, 7b arranged the movable mount 6 via coupling rings 5a, 5b, a first drive section 13a converting the rotary movement of the output rotary shaft 12 of the motor 10 into the reciprocating linear movement in a fore and aft direction and the rotary reciprocating movement around the left and right axes of the pedestal 4 via the second supporting means, and a second drive section 13b converting the rotary movement of the output rotary shaft 12 of the motor 10 into the rotary reciprocating movement around the front and rear axes and the rotary reciprocating movement around the upper and lower axes of the pedestal 4 via the first supporting means.
