PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an amplifier for television reception being capable of properly adjusting gains without a complicated gain adjustment, having high convenience, and being difficult to receive the effect of an interference-wave signal. SOLUTION: In the amplifier 10 for the television reception; a high-frequency attenuator 21, an amplifying circuit 15 amplifying an input television signal, and a branch circuit 16 branching a part of a television signal after an amplification, are mounted between an input terminal 11 and an output terminal 12. In the amplifier 10 for the television reception, an automatic gain adjuster 20 conducts a control in response to a branch-output level from the branch circuit 16. Further, a first filter 13 is mounted between the input terminal 11 and the high-frequency attenuator 21; and a second filter 26 is fitted between the high-frequency signal input terminal of the automatic gain adjuster 20 and a detector 30.
