PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magmetoresistance effect element, having a CPP structure which enhances the magnetization fixing power of a fixed magnetized layer for improving the output of the element and the output stability. SOLUTION: The element has an electrode layer 12 made of crystalline material, an underground layer 14 made of conductive amorphous material on the electrode layer 12, an antiferromagnetic layer 18 made of crystalline material on the underground layer 14, a ferromagnetic layer 20 having a regulated magnetizing direction by the antiferromagnetic layer 18 on this layer 18, a nonmagnetic intermediate layer 22 on the ferromagnetic layer 20, a ferromagnetic layer 24 having a variable magnetization direction by an external magnetic field on the intermediate layer 22, and an electrode layer 28 on the ferromagnetic layer 24.
