PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wood treatment solution which prevents the deterioration of wood by light by treating a wood treated with an aqueous solution or an organic solvent solution containing a copper compound or a zinc compound with a solution containing pyrocatechol, an iron compound and a stabilizer without producing insoluble coagulums or precipitates in the solution and a method to prevent the deterioration of wood by light using the solution. SOLUTION: In order to prevent the deterioration of wood by light, a wood treated with an aqueous solution or an organic solvent solution containing a copper compound or a zinc compound is treated with a solution containing pyrocatechol, an iron compound and a stabilizer.
