There is provided a small-size imaging device. The imaging device includes a memory for temporarily accumulating one-line data between a series of analog processing system from acquisition of a pixel signal by an imaging element to conversion of the pixel signal into digital data and a digital processing system for signal-processing the digital data into predetermined imaging data. The imaging device further includes control means for exclusively controlling one-line analog system operation by the analog processing system and one-line digital system operation by the digital processing system. The control means causes the analog processing system to operate with the clock of maximum speed of the analog processing system and causes the digital processing system to operate with the clock corresponding to the frequency decided by the band width of the transmission system for transmitting the imaging data. Furthermore, when performing the analog system operation f1 of the analog processing system, the control means causes a power supply required for operation of the analog processing system to turn ON. When performing digital operation f2 of the digital processing system, the control means causes the power supply required for the analog processing system to turn OFF.
