<p>The invention relates to a device for illuminating a wheel rim (2) of a vehicle, said device comprising a first crown (3) which is arranged in such a way as to be mounted in an inner housing defined by the wheel rim. The inventive device also comprises a second crown (5) to be mounted on an axle (13) of the vehicle, the second crown being provided with a light source which is arranged in such a way as to emit light and consists of at least one elementary light source (6). Each elementary light source (S) has an emergence surface, and the first crown (3) is provided with optical means provided with an inlet which is arranged in such a way as to capture the light emitted by the light source. The optical means are arranged in such a way as to transmit the light captured at the inlet and to transport it towards an emergence surface, and comprise a plurality of optical elements (4) which are arranged in such a way as to be secant in relation to the plane formed by the first crown (3). Each optical element (4) consists of a first material having a refraction index at least equal to one, and the inlet of each optical element has a surface with a dimension which is larger than that of the emergence surface of an elementary source (6) in such a way that the light beams from a plurality of said elementary sources (6) are captured. The emergence surface of each optical element is provided with a diffusing layer, and the width of the first crown (3) is dimensioned in such a way as to mask the light source.</p> |
