A rotation detection device, wherein a plurality of rotation detection means of a same type are classified into two groups before installation and rotation detectors in the groups are installed adjacent to each other while maintaining angles equivalent to specified electrical angles. Accordingly, even if the detector in the groups of the rotation detection means fails due to breakage and does not generate signals, normal rotation detection signals can be outputted by using signals from the other detectors.
