<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a production method for an active material for a positive electrode for a lithium secondary battery capable of increasing an active material amount capable of being filled in a limited battery can volume, having a large density of the positive electrode, especially the sheet-like positive electrode by using lithium nickelate showing large discharge capacity as the positive electrode active material, and to provide a lithium secondary battery with an excellent charge/discharge characteristic, using the active material. <P>SOLUTION: In this production method for the active material for the positive electrode for the lithium secondary battery, by mixing a lithium compound and a nickel compound, or further mixing them and a compound of another metal, and baking them at 350-800°C, the lithium nickelate or a composite lithium nickelate containing the other metal is obtained, and the lithium nickelate or the composite lithium nickelate is pulverized or held under atmosphere containing carbon dioxide gas of 50% or above. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
