PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To replace a pallet in a compact space by reducing a space required for replacing the pallet, and to replace the pallet with a simple device by reducing the movement for replacing the pallet. SOLUTION: This pallet changer 1 replaces work installing pallets with a work table of a machine tool; and is a clamp mechanism for clamping and/or unclamping the work installing pallets 2A and 2B to the work table 4; and clamps and/or unclamps the work installing pallets 2A and 2B on the same plane as the work of the machine tool, by setting the pallet carrying-in-and-out direction for carrying in and out the work installing pallet 2 to the work table 4 and the clamping-unclamping direction on the same axis.
