PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a personal computer for suppressing deterioration in an optical disk drive due to heat without the need for revising the structure of the personal computer. SOLUTION: The personal computer includes: a liquid crystal panel 4 provided with a backlight at its end; an optical disk drive 1 incorporated as a unit in parallel with the liquid crystal panel 4; and a unit space 6 for accommodating the optical disk drive 1, a vacuum insulation member 7 is fitted into the unit space 6 of the optical disk drive 1 for protection against high temperatures, high thermal insulation performance can be obtained even with only a small space in the unit space 6, the situation of the optical disk drive 1 exposed to high temperatures can be decreased and the reliability with respect to the durability of a pickup 9 can be enhanced. Further, this method can be employed without the need for revising the design of the personal computer because the unit space 6 of the optical disk drive 1 can insulate heat.
