PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for hydraulic transfer which quickly and efficiently discharge a residual film, transfer tailings and the like outside a water tank after transfer and thereby to reduce a transfer defect of a transfer object and deterioration of the quality of water in the water tank. SOLUTION: In a state wherein a transfer film 3 having an ink film on a film is floated on a water surface in the water tank 2, an organic solvent capable of dissolving the ink film is sprayed and a bathtub 5 is pressed against the transfer film 3 so that the ink film be transferred onto the bathtub 5. After the bathtub 5 is pressed against the transfer film 3, in this hydraulic transfer method, a unit 27 for sticking transfer tailings outside the bathtub and a unit for sticking transfer tailings inside the bathtub are submerged and the transfer tailings, residues and the like left after the ink film is transferred onto the bathtub 5 are made to stick to these units.
