A composite conductor for transformers, inductors and similar apparatus comprises a plurality of individual conductive elements a, b and c, which are twisted together so that each conductor element takes up all conductor positions in the cross-section of the composite conductor characterized in that the direction of twist reverses after a length A in which all conductor elements have passed at least once through each position in the cross-section of the composite conductor. Normally the number of individual twists in each direction will be equal, and reversion of direction of twist will be after one or a multiple of complete interchanges of the elements. The conductor elements may themselves be composite conductors. |
