<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a printer in which transmission of print data to a host unit receiving the print data can be interrupted exactly when printing is interrupted on the printer side, and to provide a print sytstem and a print data transmission control method. <P>SOLUTION: The communication interface section 211 of a printer 203 restores print data from a received IP packet and delivers it to a print management section 221 together with the source IP address of an IP packet. The print management section 221 delivers the print data to a print processing section 212 after storing it temporarily and registers the document number and source IP address of each print data in a management table 223. When print processing of any print data is interrupted, the management table 223 is referred and then the source IP address and the document number are delivered to a transmission interruption designating section 215 if the print data is under reception.
