INITIAL CHARGER FOR POWER CONVERSION EQUIPMENT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an initial charger for power conversion equipment which can use a small and inexpensive apparatus of low voltage standard as an apparatus such as a switch for charge of a charge circuit.

SOLUTION: This initial charger performs the initial charge of a smoothing capacitor 32 via the converter 31 of power conversion equipment 3, by means of a charge circuit 10 which supplies a charge current via a charge switch SW2 and a charge resistor R from the charge power source of low-voltage AC power and a step-up transformer T2 for charge which boosts the voltage of this charge circuit 10 to the voltage of a high-voltage AC power source 1.
