PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a program version inspection system capable of automatically performing determination of whether version information of a program stored in an IC or the like is valid or not at low cost.

SOLUTION: Error detection data generated from the version information of the program written to a microcomputer (IC) 11 provided in a liquid crystal display device 1 that is an inspection object and data strings of the program are converted to bar code information (OSD character) by an arithmetic part 112, this information is converted to an image signal by an image signal processing part 115 to display a bar code on a display part 12, and whether the version of the program is valid or not is automatically verified by an inspection tool (information equipment) reading the bar code.
