PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make information charge to be ejected in the middle of vertical transfer. SOLUTION: This solid imaging device is provided with a plurality of vertical shift registers which are arranged as columns parallel to each other in a vertical direction, crossing with a plurality of transfer electrodes 14-1 to 14-3, 34-1 to 34-3 to transfer the information charge in a vertical direction; first and second output gate electrodes 16 and 18 which are common in the respective columns of the plurality of vertical shift registers, and where an array order is inverted between an odd-numbered column and an even-numbered column; a third output gate electrode 30 arranged on an output side compared with the first and second output gate electrodes 16 and 18; and a fourth output gate electrode 32, arranged on the input side compared with the first and second output gate electrodes 16 and 18. An output control clock, controlled independently from a transfer clock pulse and an output control clock applied to the first to third output gate electrodes 16, 18 and 30 can be applied to at least one among the transfer electrodes 34-1 to 34-3, in common with fourth output gate electrode 32.
