PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a prepreg manufacturing method constituted so as to effectively suppress the stagnation of resin varnish in a dip tank to keep the good impregnation properties of a base material with a resin even in a case that a high viscosity and high thixotropy resin varnish is used and capable of preventing the adhesion of the highly viscous or gelled resin varnish. SOLUTION: In impregnating the base material 1 with the resin varnish 2, the long base material 1 is passed through the resin varnish 2 stored in the dip tank 3 and the resin varnish 2 is supplied to the dip tank 3 at the position on the side opposite to the draw-out position of the base material 1 with respect to the penetration position of the base material 1 while discharged from the dip tank 3 at the position on the side opposite to the penetration position of the base material 1 with respect to the draw-out position of the base material 1 to form the flow of the resin varnish 2 going toward the advance direction of the base material 1 in the dip tank 3.
