PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat insulating cover for a chimney capable of preventing a person from directly touching a high-temperature surface of an exhaust air chimney of a stove mainly installed indoors. SOLUTION: This heat insulating cover for the chimney comprises a pipe molding 1 of glass mat, and a spacer 2 attached to an inner peripheral face of the pipe molding 1 for approximately concentrically positioning the pipe molding 1 to the chimney 12 penetrating through the inside of the pipe molding 1. The pipe molding 1 is divided into a plurality of circumferential pipe split members 5a, 5b by being axially cut, the pipe split members 5a, 5b are expandably connected by a flexible jacket material 3 attached to an outer peripheral face of the pipe molding 1, and a fixing means 4 is mounted for fixing the expanded pipe split members 5a, 5b in a state of being cylindrically wrapped around the chimney 12.
