摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine which can prevent a gear train from being damaged even when the resistance of external loads exceeds a predetermined value instantaneously. SOLUTION: In the engine which outputs to the external loads 3, 4 via the gear train from a crankshaft, a pair of friction transmission surfaces 5a, 5b in press-contact with each other under a certain pressure are arranged in a transmission path of the gear train 2, the pair of friction transmission surfaces 5a, 5b being arranged such that they slide with respect to each other when the drive resistance of the external loads 3, 4 exceeds a predetermined value. More specifically, a fitting boss 7 is projected from a first gear 6 and a fitting boss 9 is projected from a second gear 8, these fitting bosses 7, 9 being fitted to each other. The pair of friction transmission surfaces 5a, 5b in the shape of truncated cone are formed on an inner peripheral surface of the outer-side fitting boss 7 and an outer peripheral surface of the inner-side fitting boss 9.
