<p>A thin and lightweight light guide plate having a cross-sectional shape on the back of a rectangular light exit face satisfying the functional equation of degree ten below in order to provide a large size light guide plate capable of emitting illumination light more uniformly with higher luminance from the light exit face. In the equation, X is the position from the origin O in the direction parallel to one side of the light guide plate, and Y is the position from the origin O in the direction perpendicular to the one side of the light guide plate.
