Stable preparation of live steel by continu - ous casting without running-out

Correlation curve of C and O in the liquid steel is determined. An inert gas is blown into the casting ladle of liquid steel. An Al wire of >3 mm dia. is added to the steel at >2.5m/sec. and proportionally to the dispersion of the O content as indicated by the C-O curve. The steel is then continuously cast in a mould. Preferably the addition is a material containing oxygen.
