<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide paper for an inexpensive whole heat exchange element having excellent hygroscopicity and flameproofness, a low migration ratio of carbon dioxide at moderate air permeability and excellent gas barrier properties. <P>SOLUTION: The paper for the whole heat exchange element is obtained by impregnating base paper composed of wood pulp containing ≥40 pts.mass of softwood pulp in 100 pts.mass of the wood pulp and having ≥40° SR beating degree expressed in terms of Schopper freeness with a hygroscopic agent and a flameproofing agent. The paper is characterized as follows. ≥6,000 g/m<SP>2</SP>×24 h water vapor transmission rate of the paper for the whole heat exchange element by water vapor transmission rate examinations according to JIS Z-0208, ≤10 cm carbonized length by flame examinations according to JIS Z-2150, 500 s/100 ml air permeability by air permeability examinations according to JIS P-8117 and ≤1% migration ratio of the carbon dioxide. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
