A filter apparatus for cleaning a medium flow (F) flowing from a first side of a filter (4) to the second side through the filter to a flow opening (O), which apparatus comprises at least a filter (4), which is arranged to be rotating in relation to the rotation axis. The area (A1) of the second side of the filter (4) is larger than the area (A2) of the flow opening (O) settling against it, and in the flow direction (F) the filter covers the entire flow opening.
