<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a light distribution pattern having a clear cutoff line after enhancing a luminous flux utilization rate for light from a light emitting element, in a vehicular lighting lamp using the light emitting element for a light source. <P>SOLUTION: This vehicular lighting lamp is so structured that the light emitting element 12 is disposed toward the rear side of the lamp on an optical axis Ax extending in the longitudinal direction of the lamp, and the light from the light emitting element 12 is reflected downward by a first reflecting surface 14b comprising an ellipsoid of revolution, once converged at its second focal point F2 and thereafter reflected toward the front side of the lamp by a second reflecting surface 14c comprising a parabolic cylinder surface. Then, a third reflecting surface 14d comprising a vertical plane perpendicular to the optical axis Ax is disposed below the light emitting element 12, and its lower edge 14d1 is set as a focal line of the parabolic cylinder surface. Thereby, both the light directly entering into the second reflecting surface 14c and the light entering through the third reflecting surface 14d are set as light from the rear side relative to the focal line to prevent the light reflected from the second reflecting surface 14c from becoming upward light. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
