<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To relax impact sound by turning action of an operation lever without increasing the number of parts. <P>SOLUTION: The direction indicator for the vehicle is provided with a cam member for returning the operation lever to a neutral position through a cancel plate in response to a cancel cam integrally turned with a steering handle. An elastic member for transmitting turning action of the cancel plate to a bracket is provided and when the operation lever is rotated/operated from the neutral position to a left/right direction, a pair of driving pieces provided on an outer peripheral edge of the cancel plate so as to be engageable with a rear end of the cam member is abutted on a first restriction projection projected from an inner peripheral surface of a switch case so as to opposed to the driving pieces.
