PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a controller for a DTV connected to an IEEE 1394 serial bus which carries out channel control for a target tuner unit in response to a reception state of the target tuner unit. SOLUTION: A flowchart for denoting generation/update processing of a channel information DB for an STB (tuner unit) by the DTV includes steps of: (S2) generating the channel information DB for the STB on the basis of a channel information DB for the DTV when the STB is first connected to the DTV (YES in S1); (S5) additionally registering a new channel to the DB when the STB carries out station selection processing (YES in S3) and the STB receives broadcasting of the new channel (YES in S4); and (S8) deleting a channel unable to be received from the channels registered in the DB when the broadcasting of the channel registered in the DB cannot be received (YES in S7) in the case where the STB carries out station selection processing on the basis of an instruction from the DTV (YES in S6).
