PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent wrinkling of a transfer film and remaining of air between a water surface and the film on the occasion when the film is landed on the water surface. SOLUTION: The transfer film 3 is gripped by grippers 8 and drawn out onto the water surface in a water tank 2. The transfer film is put on a conveyance table 9 moving forward and backward on the water surface and conveyed in non-contact with water. The conveyance table consists of a large number of support bars 27 connected by chain members 28, and first and second divided support bars 27A and 27B are arranged on the fore end side. Each support bar 27 has helical groove portions 30a and 30b which are provided on the opposite sides of the center line L so that they form open shapes having gaps narrowing toward the upstream side between them. The grippers 8 are provided with a pusher 10 which pushes the fore end part of the transfer film. When the conveyance table 9 is moved back, the transfer film gripped by the grippers is stretched tight in the width direction on the opposite sides and in the lengthwise direction by the regions between the groove portions 30a and 30b, so that wrinkles are smoothed out.
