PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protecting nose which maintains humidity using moisture contained in exhalation and protects an elderly person from dyspnea. SOLUTION: This protecting nose 1 is used for assisting respiration. The protecting nose 1 has a flow straightener 20 in the connecting section of a conduit 5 extending from a respiration air supplying apparatus 2. The flow straightening body has a flow straightener body 21 made of a moisture absorption member having a plurality of microscopic vent holes.
