<p>To increase the number of magnetic plates in an arc-extinguishing chamber and to effectively use the uppermost magnetic plate when the uppermost magnetic plate is positioned higher than a tip of a moving contact at a contact parting position. An insulating member 20 having a pair of side walls 21 covering a moving track 28 of a moving contact 9 from both left and right sides is mounted inside both leg parts of each of a plurality of the magnetic plates 15 in the arc-extinguishing chamber 13; the tip of the moving contact 5 at the contact parting position is projected from the upper surfaces of the side walls 21 of the insulating member 20; and the upper corner parts 21a of the side walls 21 on the magnetic plate 15 side are extended to the vicinity of the uppermost magnetic plate 15. Thereby, an arc having moved to the tip of the moving contact 5 is pushed out to an external space larger than a space between the left and right side walls 21, and the arc having escaped from the upper corner parts 21a can be properly extended by guiding it to the uppermost magnetic plate 15.</p> |
