Six torque transmitting mechanisms (50,52,54,56,58,60) provide selective connections between sun gear members (22,32,42), ring gear members (24,34,44), and planet carrier assembly members (26,36,46) of planetary gear sets (20,30,40) with either input shaft (17), output shaft (19), transmission housing or other members of planetary gear sets. The torque transmitting mechanisms operates in combinations of four to establish seven forward speed ratios and one reverse speed ratios between the input shaft and the output shaft. The input shaft is connected to the respective members of the planetary gear sets in non-continuous state. The output shaft is continuously interconnected with one member of one planetary gear set. |
