PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To substantially prohibit copy even when all data of an optical disk is copied. SOLUTION: A medium ID signal DMi and copy control information CGM are recorded as TOC data in an optical disk 2 to be reproduced. When this medium ID signal DMi indicates that the disk is recordable and the copy control information CGM indicates prohibition of copy, a reproduction prohibiting signal PBINH is made "1". Thereby, a switch circuit 31 is controlled, reproduction data are not outputted, and error message data are outputted. Copy can be prohibited substantially by this reproduction prohibiting operation.
