PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for calculating the residual capacity of a battery capable of calculating the residual capacity depending on driving patterns. SOLUTION: In a method for calculating the residual capacity of a battery for an electric car in which the residual capacity is calculated from the difference between dischargeable power capacity and discharged power capacity, the residual capacity is calculated with an equation of (residual capacity) = WhR1-1Wh by using dischargeable power capacity WhR1 calculated based on the average discharged power Pave of the battery calculated from the current and voltage values at the preceding point of a given power capacityΔWh from the time of calculating the residual capacity (at the time when the discharge power capacity is IWh), and the characteristics of the dischargeable power capacity of the battery against the discharged capacity Wh(P). This method makes its the latest driving conditions at the time of calculating the residual capacity reflected in the residual capacity. |
