PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a fluid for traction drive, having a high coefficient of traction, an excellent low-temperature fluidity, a high viscosity index and excellent boundary lubrication and stability, especially suitably useful for automobiles. SOLUTION: This fluid for traction derive comprises an alicyclic compound containing at least one cycloalkyl group in the molecule as a main component, (A) 1-30 mass % based on the overall weight of a composition of a polyorganosiloxane which contains substituent groups composed of a methyl group and an aryl group and has the molar ratio of the methyl group to the aryl group of 0.2-30, (B) >=300 mass ppm calculated as a nitrogen amount based on the overall weight of the composition of a compound containing at least one thiadiazole ring structure in the molecule and (C) 0.01-1.0 mass % based on the overall weight of the composition of a metal salicylate. |
